I liked the intro and first few chapters the less common setting and it seemed real enough but I didn t love Olivia and Lang for some reason I didn t feel super connected to either of them and didn t feel tremendously convinced of their whirlwind romance The last couple chapters were also good and those brought the story to a much satisfying close

Summary And the Bride Wore Red

Xotic vibrant China is far enough from rainy gray England to be just thatIn the hustle and bustle of Beijing Olivia is starting a w. The last few chapters changed my mind about this book I was almost going to give it one star It s probably the longest I ve taken to read a Mills and Boon as it really wasn t a page turnerThe only reason I finished this book is because I m trying to read 40 books in a year otherwise I would have probably ditched it half way through The author kept telling me how much these two characters were attracted to each other But she never showed it So I didn t feel it I wasn t seeing it at all I just had to believe the author I only started to feel some emotion in the last couple of chapters To be honest I wonder if it s down to word count that can limit a Mills and Boon novel This bookstory could have been expanded it even felt a bit rushed at the end and maybe the middle dragged out Too much telling not enough showing This book really wasn t that interesting to me I wasn t swept away with these characters I didn t much care for them

I just could not get into the book The setting Beijing is one I don't often see in romance and I thought it could be promising However this book is painfully overwritten and I just could not get into it I barely made it past chapter
