De autobiografische roman Turks Fruit verscheen oorspronkelijk in 1969 Jan Wolkers beschrijft in Turks fruit de heftige liefde van een bee. The book is written almost entirely with exposition which is common I ve discovered with translated books There is very little dialogue However its such a good book Full of raunchy humor and slang One of the best books I m read this year and also ultimately it is so very sad It s interesting different from many books because its translated but it is so uniue and full of melancholy and the regret we all feel when a relationship ends At first I thought the humor would kind of continue but it got progressively darker until the end The ending was a little disappointing because it seemed kind of flat in how it ended There was no emotion in the ending
