Read Apocalypse The Wasteland Chronicles #1

Ow only four are left fallen for reasons of starvation rebellion or worse For in the wake of Ragnarok are new and sinister threats threats which do not yet have a nameBorn into this post apocalyptic world is sixteen year old Alex Keener who has lived his entire life underground in US Bunker 108. The concept was good but it lacked conviction It s been 30 odd years since the end of life as we know it and the remaining few are just scraping by an existence based on what they can scavenge from the pre disaster Its pretty disappointing really that the survivors have zero ability to adapt and rebuild The American mentality that those that are left are out to get you are violent and deadly is getting old Truly is this how Americans think people will really react when disaster strikes It is also only situated in America the meteor landed there naturally and the virus has spread there what about the rest of the world Surely the time lapse between impact and spreading of the virus would have allowed other countries to offer aid There is not enough plausible explanation and detail in this book In addition to this the American mentality of kill first and loot what you can really spoiled it for me

First this is a novella and should the white space be removed it would be a short one at that Combined with the need for a good editor a few re writes and you have something that reads like a high school project than an eBook selling for 11 Inconseuential elements are just thrown at the page in the hopes that something will stick with the reader If it is worth writing about the details need to be fleshed out so they paint a mental picture for the readerA couple of kids were playing ping pong in the corner I sat in a chair in another corner and watched some of my classmates play basketball Those two sentences end a paragraph in Chapter two There is no layout of the rooms or how or where the basketball was being played Was there a full court or only a small area with a basket on the groundThey are meant to help establish the setting but utterly fail to do so due to the sparse sporadic details that seem of an afterthought than a comprehensive plan on the part of the author This issue plagues the whole book and robs it of any life It is 2D trying to imitate the 3D world
