I enjoyed her style of writing but the story itself had some plot issues I was pretty sure of who the murderer was about halfway through and was mostly right and there was something major that occurred near the beginning that really needed some sort of resolution towards the end but the outcome was never mentioned I m aware this is intended as the first of a series but I m referring to something that would not be picked back up and addressed in a later volume A little convoluted at the end and really on that edge of having too many players to keep track of without taking notes The biggest sin I think was the last chapter which suddenly turned very philosophical theological and introspective and did not fit at all with the tone or style of the rest of the book and felt like Jerry Springer s Final Thoughts than the ending of a thriller I would probably give the writer another chance with a subseuent novel because I did like her prose overall but some extra care to plot resolution and consistency in voice would be good

This was the first book for this author and it was an ok read I enjoyed her style of writing it was fast paced in some areas but I found myself lost several times and having to go back and figure out who the people were she was pulling into the plot I would read in this series if that is what it is going to bebut am not anxiously waiting for the next one like I would be for an Eve Dallas or D D Warren
