Using Forums

Old school discussion forums! I love them! OK so they are dated and quietly fading into the background, possibly thanks to social media taking over as a digital way to communicate.

That said, when I sought answers from my old blog last month, I found forums to be the biggest contributor to my 7 years dead old blog. Most of the hits came from guides I had fully shared onto forums such as UbuntuForums.org, with a link either in my signature or at the bottom of my post.

Social media may be more popular than web forums, but there is something to be said for joining a community and joining or starting discussions outside of the blogosphere to aid your blogs traffic.

Jetpack 4.3.1

Something has happened. And it is a bit hurty.

Since updating Jetpack a few days ago, everything on my site stat wise went into free fall. I went from comments on every post with 100+ likes down to less than 10 likes per post. I’ve tried reconnecting Jetpack, apparently to no avail. I am not the only person having problems.

I will figure it out. But for now, I shall simply shout at my devices until something works.

Let me know if you to have had issues with this update. We can shout (or fix things) together. 🙂

In which shit gets done.

Holy crap I have so much on my to do list for August. I do not believe a life can be lived and an income made easily online, so there’s offline real world stuff I am aiming for not listed below such as making business cards and meeting new contacts.

For my blog, book and odd bits of extra teaching and design though…

5 Threadless Designs
5 etsy listings
2 skillshare courses
Reach 5000 WordPress subscribers (currently 3809)
Create Projects menu
Update Sinnis review
Update tech guides
Log into old blogs and see what’s still be viewed highly and why
Get fit (Note diet and exercise daily)
5 Scribblers Cove pictures
Write 30 Tales of the Blue Moon

All this works towards self improvement mentally, physically and financially. Posting this to do list so I can hold myself accountable to this at the end of the month. Shall let you know how I get on.
