Last doodle of the year. Asked the missus for a theme and she suggested Bubble. I returned to the Heads doodles.  I reckon I will continue the odd lil gits into the new year some. Not sure why but I enjoy doodling them. Maybe these guys and the spooky clouds and specters could join up? Or maybe I need to get out more and doodle other things with something other than Posca Pens?

New year, new doodles, we shall see.

Doodled with Posca Pens.

I hate brush script. I mean I REALLY hate brush script. It has been a slow build but when I see font’s in the shape of hand writing it annoys me now. The perfectly aligned letters that are exact replicas of each other. I think people want a perfectly hand written text that looks hand written, but it just ends up looking inorganic. Nobodies hand writing is perfect. Its the lumps and bumps that make it interesting in my opinion. Want something to look hand written? Hand write it!

As for Safar, that comes from my good friend Safar from Blisters, Bunions and Blarney. I just like the sound of her name and think it writes well.

Back to the heads! Yeah they keep popping into my mind and needing to be doodled. Continuing the heads inspired by Mike Villegas. Looks a bit Ming the Merciless. I remember a game of some sort from the 90’s called Doomtown, and it had Oriental pirates called the Maze Rats in. Pretty cool bunch, but have no idea how 90’s racist it was because I can only remember them being Oriental and pirates heh.

Ever been dive bombed by a bird? I have. Frequently.

The worst seem to be the uncoordinated pigeons at Wembley Park tube station. They just used to fly in random directions and often at your head.

In later years I discovered this may have been intentional after reading Pigeon Jons Twitter feed.

Artline Stix Brush Marker – Dance

What is it?
An Artline Stix Brush Marker from the missus recent ScrawlrBox. A brush marker with marker pen ink. Interestingly has connectors so you stick pens together like lego and build with them. Alternatively clip them together and skip the need for a pencil case.

The Pros
Nice and big in the hand, smart gimmick with the sticky stix (not lego, but really lego) connectors. You get marker ink out of a brush for wide variation in line width.

The Cons
The brush just was not flexible. I like messy doodles, but this was too much messy, it was annoying. I drew 3 things with it, then put it down and never looked back. Also I do not think I will ever use the sticky stix (not lego, but lego) thing. I do not imagine many kids will either. If someone has a kid can you ask them for me please? Ar sticky pens something that would excite kids or annoy everyone?

The Take Away
Do not like. Silly gimmick brush pen with a bad brush. Gimme a Posca any day.
