Hallway

That pile of crap would drive you nuts right? I know it will drive me nuts. It has sat on the other side of the drawers up the end of the hallway for years. The 2 owl boxes and odds and ends of motorcycle parts.

The problem is, the hallway is long, and goes nowhere except under the stairs. Thats a few metres past the drawers that you can fill with crap and never see, look at and deal with.

Thats a problem. We put stuff in there and it just sits, from now until evermore. That does not sit well with my minimalist values. So I dragged some of it out, dumped it near my desk where I have to look at it and I know its going to drive me mental looking at that mess until I either sort it, tidy it or Ebay it.

Now theres a life metaphor. It’s easy to ignore things we cannot see isn’t it? Family, friends, health issues, that squeak at the back of the car or a leaky tap.

If like me, you lean to the OCD side of cleaning up a mess, try putting whatever you are ignoring in front of you. Put it where you have to keep seeing it. A new tap next to your alarm clock. The mechanics card on to your dashboard. A photo of family by your desk.

I was about to wewlcome you to my blog (and thank you for subscribing), but doing so I came across your ‘Home’ and ‘About’ which would indicate that you really didn’t have a blog at all?
And there’s not much to indicate an interest in photography, nature, nor travels? So perhaps this ‘tyding up’-busniess it not so bad after all? 🙂
You might find that more people drop by?
Giving you the benfeit of doubt (Ifor the time being . . .) 🙂

Hey there Senoor, thanks for the welcome. I am not sure I understand your comment? This sites mostly doodles, flash fiction and odd opinions.

I have a keen interest in nature and photography, with a wistful appreciation (I’ll do it someday) for travel. They just do not feature very often here.

Why I have started to do this iss because I have close to a thousand followers, but a medium respons to my pictures is app. 30 pr published post. It just don’t add up!
And after having deleted more than a hundred subscribtions, my respons have actually increased! 🙂

Interestingly we had a convo here a few weeks back. We found 95% of people on WordPress blogs and readers of WordPress blogs follow through the WordPress app, not by email subscription. So most people don’t see your posts unless they scroll past them in Reader. So use around GMT’ish times get American subscribers that never actually see our posts.

I’m really sorry for my old horny fingers here. I see there are a lot of typing errors in my previous message?! Getting too old for this shit! 🙂

A drawers fine Phil, but when it becomes a 2-3 deep hallway crammed in, then its an issue. 🙂

I start emptying milk crates and project buckets and even misappropriated laundry baskets full of “huh?” in my house it would scare me.

Ah, I have sorta kept it to a minimum on account of lack of space (London home). It’s just that hallway… *Sigh*

In the U.S. we have lots of land, so we live in suburbs, build garages, fill it with stuff, and park our cars outside in the weather. We never even have to see our growing pile of “we may need it someday” if we don’t want to–until we move!
