Woody’s Daily Conditioner

DSCF9848

What is it?
Woody’s Daily Conditioner is a mens hair conditioner from the USA. I got it in my recent ModernMan order. It’s meant to leave your hair nourished and healthy.

How To Use
Apply to freshly washed hair and rinse.

The Pros
The smell is fantastic, reminded me of Tutti Fruitis. Not sure if that was the goal though. Its got green tea, mint, sunflower and ginger in. The amount you get in the bottle is good to, I reckon this is going to last me months.

The Cons
My hair is flat, thin and not much of anything. I have used mens conditioners before and they have left my hair feeling a lil thicker, shinier and bouncier. Woody’s does not do this for my hair. That said, checking other reviews, it seems people with thick hair love it.

The Take Away
Nice smelling product, fairly cheap, but I reckon its not for my hair type. Would suggest it if you have thick hair though.

Morgans Beard & Moustache Wax

DSCF9851

What is it?
Morgans released a moustache and beard pomade, complete with glass jar, metal screw top lid, British packaging with nods to its 1870’s heritage. Except for the hipster face on the side of the moustache pot… That’s a bit odd…

How To Use
Rub a tiny amount of the pot, and between your fingers to warm the pomade, rub into moustache, comb through, style as desired.

The Pros
It works well as balm. Rub a little in and comb your moustache and it does leave it looking healthier, moisturized with a mild sheen. Softens the moustache a little. It smells fantastic, and the fragrance lasts all day without being overpowering.

The Cons
The pomade does not have a particularly strong hold. It does not hold my moustache in any sort of style for long.

The Take Away
Good pomade when used as a balm, could do with less hipster packaging. Makes a brittle moustache less stabby and nicer smelling when kissing the missus.

1642 Nappa Card Holder

While I was looking at mens products, I came across this rather spiffy card holder. It has that gorgeous brown leather look any man could appreciate. Its a small and simple 2 card holder, so suits the minimalist me that only ever caries a bank card and oyster card. I usually snap both as I never have a wallet…

My usual reason for not having a wallet is because mens wallets nowadays are bigger than womens purses. Who wants one of them stuff in his pocket all the time? It seems mens accessories lean towards the Man-Baggers at the moment.

The wallet feels quality, has 2 card holders and an outer pocket for notes. Love it. Would make a good gift to the non man bagging male in your life.

Modern Man

A follow on from ToppBox really. I got myself a delivery of useable mens products from TheModernMan. Groovy little website I have supplied for a few years, will start ordering mens products from them from now on. They have free global delivery, and if you live in the USA you can clean up… Literally at the current exchange rate.

I grabbed myself some Morgans Moustache Pomade, Dear Barber Moustache Pomade, Woodys Conditioner and Woodys Shaving Balm.

Currently loving the Woody’s. Have not tried the Pomades properly.

Alternatives

Autumn rain. Eesh! That brought a halt to proceedings!

It was inevitable that the weather was going to change at some point. That does put a bit of a stopper on my 10,000 steps a day. The dogs will get brisk wet walks around the blog a few times a day, but my steps will be cut in half.

So what now? I need to find an alternative to staying fit that isn’t 10,000 steps a day, most likely indoors.

Erm. Wii fit anyone? Does that work?
